Brisbane Street Art Festival 2020
In the peak of Covid lockdowns, BSAF 2020 boldly went ahead.
I was excited about this one, as it was the biggest wall I’d had the opportunity to paint up to then. My proposed art was ambitious, and I had a roster of people in my head who I thought might be able to come and assist me with painting. However, as the weekend of BSAF drew closer, it became clear that unfortunately that list was going stay in my head. Due to social distancing rules being in full effect, all artists were instructed not to entice any extra people out of their homes. I’m still proud of what I was able to achieve on my own - there’s extra details that I simply ran out of time to add.
An annoying outcome of this also meant that I posted my progress on stories on my Instagram, but so as not to get into trouble with the BSAF organisers I set up a ‘Close friends’ list and only broadcast to them. I looked into it afterwards, and there’s no way to change the privacy on a story highlight after it’s been posted. Some progress videos exist, they’re locked away on Insta though!
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
